Black bears are very successful animals with no natural enemies except other bears and man. Black bears are tolerant of other black bears, but occasionally skirmish over territory and food. Grizzlies and black bears do not get along and often avoid one another. The biggest threat to black bears is habitat loss. Bears are being forced to adapt to living close to man. In recent years, many bears have begun to associate people with food, often times getting into garbage cans and into homes in search of tasty scraps of food. The bears are not always a welcomed guest and lead to many problems. Younger bears that are new at being on their own are the most susceptible to becoming so-called “nuisance bears” because they soon discover the relative ease at obtaining food from human sources. Once bears begin relying on people for food, their natural fear of humans is diminished and often leads to confrontations with people and their property. Wildlife officials destroy many nuisance bears each year because it is difficult to curb their behavior. Relocation is another alternative, however many bears return to their original location. There have been accounts of relocated bears traveling over 150 miles back to their place of origin. The behavior of nuisance bears is not at all the bear’s fault. Humans are the ones that create nuisance bears. The best way to avoid bears into nuisance bears is to keep all food in cabins, campsites, houses, garbage cans, etc. inaccessible to bears, and under no circumstance should people feed bears scraps or morsels of food. Bears are more than capable of making it on their own without our handouts! Though descended from carnivores, bears feed primarily on berries, nuts, bark, and vegetation. They are capable of hunting however, and it is not uncommon for them to stalk and kill deer, antelope and occasionally a sick or wounded elk. Black bears are also skilled anglers. Each year during the salmon run, bears can be seen wading in rivers near Yellowstone and other parts of the Rockies catching large, wriggling salmon.

Sun bear animals
The sun bear
smallest member of the bear family, lives an insular life in the dense lowland forests of Southeast Asia.
Found from southern China to eastern India and as far south as Indonesia, sun bears, also called Malayan sun bears, take their name from the bib-shaped golden or white patch on their chest, which legend says represents the rising sun. They have a stocky, muscular build, small ears, and a short muzzle, which has earned them the nickname “dog bear.” Their sleek, black coat is short to avoid overheating in the tropical weather but thick and coarse to provide protection from twigs, branches, and rain.
Sun bears grow to only about half the size of an American black bear. Males, slightly larger than females, are about 5 feet (1.5 meters) in length and weigh up to 150 pounds (70 kilograms), a stature which suits their arboreal lifestyle and allows them to move easily through the trees. They have even been observed making sleeping platforms high above the ground out of branches and leaves.
Ironically, sun bears are nocturnal. They lumber through the forests by night, snacking on fruits, berries, roots, insects, small birds, lizards, and rodents. They have an excellent sense of smell and extremely long claws, exceeding four inches (ten centimeters) in length, which they use to rip open trees and termite nests. They also have an almost comically long tongue for extracting honey from bee nests, giving them their other nickname, “honey bear.”
Little is known about the social life of these bears, but there is some evidence that suggests they may be monogamous. Mother bears, called sows, make ground nests and give birth to one or two blind, helpless babies that weigh about 11 ounces (325 grams). Mothers have actually been observed cradling a cub in their arms while walking on their hind legs, a rare trait among bears. Cubs can move about after two months and are weaned by four months, but they remain with their mothers for two years or more.
Because of their remote habitat and shy personality, there is currently not enough data to determine if sun bears are in danger of extinction, but scientists fear the worst. Their homelands are being lost rapidly to deforestation, poachers hunt them mercilessly for body parts and fur, and some farmers kill them on site because they often eat crops such as oil palm, coconuts, and bananas. Adult females are also frequently killed so their cubs can be taken and raised as pets.

Guinea pigs animals
Guinea pigs can be very loving and entertaining pets to keep. They are quite easy to care for and don't require too much effort to clean, so follow these guidelines to keeping a guinea pig. These particular pets are very good house pets but can also be kept outside in a hutch as well. The house kept guinea pigs are usually very tame and often more tame than hutch guinea pigs but hutch guinea pigs develop a thicker coat for winter and there is a lesser risk of them getting cold.Guinea pigs have become increasingly popular pets both in the UK and other countries. Guinea pigs have lots of advantages as house pets, they are basically odourless and are very cheap to buy food for. You will need to ensure that if you are going to get a guinea pig that you have company for it. Guinea pigs are group animals and if kept alone they will not be happy at all.I have another 2 year old guinea pig, Cody, and we bought them both at the same place but different times . Cody is perfectly fine and his weight had been constant so we compare them.

Aardvark animals
Aardvarks live throughout Africa, south of the Sahara. Their name comes from South Africa's Afrikaans language and means "earth pig." A glimpse of the aardvark's body and long snout brings the pig to mind. On closer inspection, the aardvark appears to include other animal features as well. It boasts rabbitlike ears and a kangaroo tail—yet the aardvark is related to none of these animals.Aardvarks are nocturnal. They spend the hot African afternoon holed up in cool underground burrows dug with their powerful feet and claws that resemble small spades. After sunset, aardvarks put those claws to good use in acquiring their favorite food—termites. While foraging in grasslands and forests aardvarks, also called "antbears," may travel several miles a night in search of large, earthen termite mounds. A hungry aardvark digs through the hard shell of a promising mound with its front claws and uses its long, sticky, wormlike tongue to feast on the insects within. It can close its nostrils to keep dust and insects from invading its snout, and its thick skin protects it from bites. It uses a similar technique to raid underground ant nests.Female aardvarks typically give birth to one newborn each year. The young remain with their mother for about six months before moving out and digging their own burrows, which can be extensive dwellings with many different openings.

Cheetas animals
The cheetah holds the distinction of being the world's fastest land animal. Cheetahs can sprint at speeds in excess of 62 mph for short periods of time. After just 10 to 20 seconds, the amount of heat generated by such exertion is too much for the cheetah to handle and their sprint fizzles to a standstill. Cheetahs depend on their speed to survive, for without their speed they would go hungry. Their prey includes Thompson's gazelles, young wildebeest, impala, and hares—all fast and agile animals themselves.Cheetahs are superbly adapted for speed. They have extremely flexible spines that allow them to stretch their body in order to take long strides. Cheetahs have a long tail that serves as a balance when running, allowing them to change direction efficiently when moving at top speed. Cheetahs are unique among cats in that they are the only species that lacks fully-retractable claws. Since the claws of cheetahs remain extended at all times, they enjoy better traction while running.Cheetahs have golden to cream colored coats with black spots. They have distinct tear stripes that run from inner and outer corners of their eyes down their muzzle. The underside of their face, neck, and belly is of a lighter golden color than the fur on their back and flanks. The cheetah's tail is dappled with black spots at its base and these spots gradually merge towards the end of its tail to become black rings.

Sea otter animals
Enhydra lutris is in the domain eukarya because it has membrane bound organelles and has a nucleus. The species’ kingdom is animalia because the sea otter is motile at some point in their life cycle, multicellular, heterotrophic, and also lacks cell walls. The sea otter is in the phylum chordate because sometime during its life cycle it has a notochord, dorsal nervechord, pharyngeal slits, endostyle, and a post-anal tail. Sea otters are also bilaterally symmetrical, like all other chordates. The class is Mammalia because it is a warm blooded vertebrate. Also the sea otter has sweat glands, hair, and gives birth to their pups live and not from an egg like other members of this class do. Enhydra lutris is in the order carnivora because this species is a meat eating animal. The sea otter also has teeth and claws that adapted to the habitat that it lives in along with the animals it consumes. The sea otters family is Mustelidae because this family contains mostly small animals with short legs, short round ears, and thick fur. The sea otter fits all of these characteristics and also is active year round like members in this family. All sea otters belong to the genus Enhydra. The sea otter is the only member of this genus. This particular species is given the scientific name of Enhydra lutris.
